A smoking effort, the 2011 Syrah Chapel Block offers up beautiful blackberry and raspberry fruit, crushed rock and spice to go with a medium to full-bodied, layered and seamless feel on the palate. Made from 100% Syrah and aged 12 months in 35% new French oak, this layered, pure and balanced 2011 can be consumed anytime over the coming decade.

I was blown away by these new releases from Owen Roe. Across the board, they showed beautiful purity and elegance that was balanced by solid mid-palate depth and concentration. They’re not cheap, but they certainly deliver on the quality-front.
